  dist upgrade halts when calculating changes

Bug description:
  'do-release-upgrade -m desktop' halts when calculating changes for the
  upgrade. I've purged ppas, checked for broken dependencies, held
  packages and fully upgraded my machine to ubuntu studio 22.04.
