Nvidia does not support the 340 driver anymore, and hasn't for years. So
manually installing the .run file you get from Nvidia is not going to
work because it doesn't support modern kernels and compilers  (as you
found out the hard way).

Ubuntu also stopped supporting the 340 driver. See duplicate bug.

Maybe a PPA will help you (though I don't know if it works with 6.11
kernel or you'll have to go back to 6.8). Keep in mind that the 340
driver doesn't support Wayland session, and keep in mind these are
unofficial packages. Don't file bugs about them.
