System upgrading from Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS to 24.04.2 LTS leaded to the same error.
Now "apt upgrade" returns:

grub-pc (2.12-1ubuntu7.3) wird eingerichtet ...
i386-pc wird für Ihre Plattform installiert.
mdadm: /dev/md does not appear to be an md device
grub-install: Fehler: RAID_VERSION-Fehler (ioctl): Unpassender IOCTL (I/O-Control) für das Gerät.
dpkg: Fehler beim Bearbeiten des Paketes grub-pc (--configure):
 »installiertes post-installation-Skript des Paketes grub-pc«-Unterprozess gab den Fehlerwert 1 zurück

Is there any workaround? Or is it appropriate to ignore the error?

Bug description:
  During upgrade to 24.04 and afterwards when executing "apt upgrade"  I
  get the following error:

  Setting up grub-pc (2.12-1ubuntu7) ...
  Installing for i386-pc platform.
  mdadm: /dev/md does not appear to be an md device
  grub-install: error: ioctl RAID_VERSION error: Inappropriate ioctl for device.
  dpkg: error processing package grub-pc (--configure):
   installed grub-pc package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   grub-pc

  The system does function normally, but I can not finish the upgrade.
