I see no updates in the GUI (after upgrading packages earlier today).
Still it takes all that time to start up. If I run without --no-update,
the long wait is after updating package lists and before showing the
main window or the "no packages to update" notice.

I tried the same profiling command as you did in the other report, but I
don't get anything printed. Do you have some tips? Is it because I am on
noble?

Title:
noble regression: update-manager takes > 30s to start

Status in update-manager package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
After upgrading update-manager from 1:24.04.9 to 1:24.04.12 today,
update-manager now takes more than 30 seconds to start up, with CPU
time of e.g. 47 seconds, before the main GUI is displayed. It is the
same when using the -no-update option, and whether there are packages
  to be updated or not.
