  	GNUSTAT=$?
  	if [ "$GNUSTAT" -ne 0 ]; then

  		STATSZ="stat -f %Uz"
  	else
  		STATSZ="stat -c %s"
  	fi

  but with the rust coreutils

  # stat --version 2>/dev/null
  stat 0.0.30

  which leas to use %Uz which isn't working
