Wasn't sure whether to target this against fwupd or fwupd-signed - I
suspect the former but have left fwupd-signed as affected as well for
now.

Title:
system fails to reboot into fwupdx64.efi to apply pending system
  firmware update

Status in fwupd package in Ubuntu:
  New
Status in fwupd-signed package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
fwupdmgr reports a pending firmware update but after choosing to apply
it and then rebooting the machine, it is never actually applied and
from what I can glean during the boot process the fwupdx64.efi is
never actually executed. It would appear that the efi boot order is
  not getting set properly.

Is it correct that Boot0001 entry specifies the standard shim binary instead of the fwupdx64.efi binary?
