Bug description:
  Somehow the detect_drivers subprocess is reporting exitcode=None after
  join(), which we did not expect and is thus raising an exception,
  which was caught by errors.ubuntu.com:

    File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/softwareproperties/gtk/SoftwarePropertiesGtk.py", line 1414, in detect_drivers
      raise Exception(f"Exit code: {self.search_process.exitcode}")
  Exception: Exit code: None
