Ubuntu Desktop Installer or Calamares starting with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.

Title:
  installer crashing with "Could not restore packages from the previous
  install"

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  installer crashes nearly the end of fresh install of kubuntu 20.04 on lvm with luks.
  install kernel 5.11.0-27 on 20.04.3 LTS

  in syslog the following error messages appear:

  #1655 in apt_clone_restore "subprocess.check_call("

  in /usr/lib/python3.8/subprocess.py
  #364 in check_all raise CalledProcessError(retCode, cmd)

  with subprocess.CalledProcessError: Command '[apt-clone', 'restore-new-distro', '/target/ubuquity-apt-clone/apt-clone-state-kubuntu.tar.gz', 'focal', '--destination', '/target'] returned non-zero exit status 1
