[Bug 2112168] [NEW] do-release-upgrade failed (ubuntu 20 to 22)

Public bug reported:

On a Ubuntu 20.04.6 (kernel 5.4.0-216-generic) system "do-release-upgrade" is started.
This stops with the error below. 
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade

/var/log/mail.log contains the next information:
