Hi Mike! Thanks for the bug report. Version 0.2.10 is currently in the
process of being merged into Ubuntu and will be released alongside
Ubuntu 26.04. If you believe that this bug has a significant impact on
the current version of sudo-rs however, we may discuss performing a
stable release update to fix it for the currently supported versions.

Have a great day,
Simon

Title:
sudo-rs -vn incorrectly prompts for password - need 0.2.9+

Status in rust-sudo-rs package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
`sudo-rs -vn` incorrectly prompts for password.

The version of sudo-rs needs to be updated to 0.2.9 or higher to fix
this bug which affects tools like bash-it that use that command to
determine if a shell is in sudo mode or not. sudo-rs 0.2.10 has
already been released but Ubuntu's version is still sudo-rs:amd64
  0.2.8-1ubuntu5 0.2.8-1ubuntu5.2.

  See https://github.com/trifectatechfoundation/sudo-rs/issues/1316

  I'm using Kubuntu 25.10.
