Fwupd has the ability to show the warning you want already. The OEM just
needs to add "display-required" flag to th metadata for the update.
Like I said. This is not a fwupd bug. You can raise an issue with Dell
to modify their metadata for the affected release. Fwupd needs a hint to
know this though.
It is supported in fwupd 1.9.6 or newer.

Bug description:
My Wyse 5070 running noble has an update to system firmware pending
but "fwupdmgr update" silently fails to make the actual update. I am
going through the steps including reboot and after the reboot, the old
firmware is still the one present.
$ fwupdmgr update
