Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.
Bug reporting is about finding & fixing problems thus preventing future
users from hitting the same bug.
I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg.
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your
problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community
http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/welcome-to-support-and-help/49951, or for
more support options please look at
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709
( the ubuntu-release-upgrader package will upgrade a system from one
release to another; you appear to be using 22.04 whilst started at
20.04; so that tool appears to have worked for you; with you filing this
bug report on the actual release change from 20.04 to 22.04.
The bug tool grabbed details about the package you filed against (ie.
do-release-upgrade etc, and not the linux kernel your description
matches, which may mean this bug report has limited useful detail for
programmers to help find and correct the issue )
** Package changed: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu)

Title:
System hangs when restarting after suspend
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
After opening lid on laptop, the USB mouse no longer responds and I
must reboot the device. The reboot hangs on the ubuntu screen and the
only solution is to power down the unit.
This only happens on kernels 6.8.0-85 and -84. If I boot using
6.8.0-83 then everything works as expected.
I have also started to see this error during startup- kernel: RDRAND
is not reliable on this platform; disabling
Also, when shutting down either 84 or 85 (before a suspend occurs)
there is a screen of messages that display but I do not know how to
copy the screen before it restarts.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I am not a Linux power user as I
came from a Windows background.
Thanks,
Dave
