For anyone testing, at pi-apps we now force gnu coreutils to be
installed via a runonce and on initial install. Please re-install uutils
if you intend on bugtesting.

Title:
sort command pipe output fails
Status in rust-coreutils package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
This issue was first uncovered by a user in pi-apps https://pi-
apps.io/ https://github.com/Botspot/pi-apps/issues/2853
Honestly, I don't have the time to determine which command(s) are
failing because there are so many cases of it. pi-apps makes extensive
use of the coreutils libraries so any issue has cascading effects. The
primary issue seems to occur in the preload script which creates lists
for our YAD UI to read and create a user interface. These lists are
being generated incorrectly due to multiple RUST uutils commands
failing in ways that the GNU coreutils commands never have.
It is unacceptable that critical system libraries are being messed
with without intensive testing and time in an official release of
ubuntu by DEFAULT. Users don't expect that the underlying coreutils
are broken on their system out of the box.
