Hello,

I'm not familiar with ESXi but this bug looks similar to bug 2097226 and
its private duplicates. Can you consistently reproduce the issue? Does
it help if you start from a zero-ed disk?

      Subiquity crashes due to a failure of the sfdisk command during the installation of Ubuntu 24.04.2 Desktop on ESXi.

  Steps to Reproduce:
  ---------------------
  1. Create a VM in ESXi 8.0 or ESXi 8.0.x with an lsilogic SAS disk, 4GB of memory, and the other default settings.

  2. Mount the ISO file ubuntu-24.04.2-desktop-amd64.iso to the VM

  3. Power on the VM and follow the OS installation wizard to install
  Ubuntu Desktop

  4. During the installing, subiquity crashes due to a failure of the
  sfdisk command.

     Please refer to the attached screenshot "sfdisk_fail.png" for
  detailed log.

  Note:
  The issue does not occur when creating the VM with lsilogic, pvscsi, or nvme disk.
