Title:
dirname skip last "/." current directory

Status in rust-coreutils package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I think have found a regression on "dirname" executable.

  /usr/bin/gnudirname /path/to/test/.
  returns /path/to/test
  whereas
  /usr/lib/cargo/bin/coreutils/dirname /path/to/test/.
  returns /path/to

It leads to configuration bugs in script for example.
