nullboot only supports azure-fde kernels on Azure Confidential VMs (and
similar kernels in theory, none exist to my knowledge); it does not work
without /usr/lib/linux/efi being present.
** Changed in: nullboot (Ubuntu)

Title:
nullboot 0.5.3-0ubuntu-0.24.04.1 does not install
Status in nullboot package in Ubuntu:
Won't Fix
Bug description:
When updating to the nullboot in noble-updates, I get the following
error:
Setting up nullboot (0.5.3-0ubuntu0.24.04.1) ...
2025/10/21 09:21:39 cannot add new assets from /usr/lib/linux/efi : open /usr/lib/linux/efi: no such file or directory
dpkg: error processing package nullboot (--configure):
installed nullboot package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
nullboot
The previously installed version of nullboot was 0.5.0-0ubuntu3.
When using apt-file to search for packages that contain
/usr/lib/linux/efi I can only find kernels suffixed with -azure-fde.
I am not in an azure environment and I am using -generic kernels.

was not investigated or resolved.
