Hello AceLan, or anyone else affected,
Accepted linux-firmware into noble-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-
firmware/20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu2.20 in a few hours, and then in
the -proposed repository.
Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.
If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
noble to verification-done-noble. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-noble. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.
Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!
N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

Bug description:
[Impact]
amd-pmf driver requires a new firmware which does not exists in noble yet.
Aug 18 07:40:28 localhost kernel: tee tee0: Direct firmware load for /amdtee/f29bb3d9-bd66-5441-afb88acc2b2b60d6.bin failed with error -2
Aug 18 07:40:28 localhost kernel: failed to load firmware /amdtee/f29bb3d9-bd66-5441-afb88acc2b2b60d6.bin
Aug 18 07:40:28 localhost kernel: failed to copy TA binary
Aug 18 07:40:28 localhost kernel: Failed to open TEE session err:0x0, rc:-12
Aug 18 07:40:28 localhost kernel: amd-pmf AMDI0107:00: Failed to open TA session (-12)
Aug 18 07:40:28 localhost kernel: amd-pmf AMDI0107:00: registered PMF device successfully
[Fix]
The required firmware is from this commit
86d528c2 amd_pmf: Update AMD PMF TA Firmware to v3.1
[Test]
Verify the dmesg after booted up, there should be no amdtee firmware not found errors
[Where problems could occur]
The device works after this SRU, so no regression.
