Public bug reported:
Hello,
I have downloaded a recent Ubuntu Concept (resolute, 20260326) ISO and
am attempting to boot my MEDION 14 S1 Elite from that image.
By removing the 'quiet splash' kernel commandline arguments, I can see
that it seems to make good progress starting the system (as I've
mentioned in #2137257).
However, after the boot sequence has begun multiple systemd services
successfully, and attempts to switch to a graphical environment, the
display turns blank and the laptop reboots.
I've been able to access a bash shell on the laptop and to run dmesg to
gather kernel output messages. In particular there is one stacktrace
related to probing the display driver that I think may be relevant. I
am attaching the (manually transcribed; beware typos) stacktrace and
some of the preceding and subsequent dmesg log output with this
bugreport.
The error is reproducible; I can replicate it and the output seems
similar aside from small details like the kthread and CPU ID. Please
let me know if I can provide more information to help track down the
problem.
Thanks,
James
