Hi Thorsten, thank you for the additional test and the feedback and
files/logs.
I will try to recreate this in the exact same way you did (thx for the
screenshots) with a mod54 and two different partitions for / and /boot.
I remember that we in the past once had a rounding issue while
calculating the partition size.
Even if 2GB looks pretty sound, an attempt with a slightly different size would be interesting (let's say 1GB for /boot and 32GB for /).
(and possibly also trying with a different DASD - in case one is available).
As well as the manual steps mentioned in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-z-systems/+bug/2146873/comments/10 .
Btw. you selected a Reformat, which is good, since it triggers a dasdfmt
which wipes out any pre-existing disk config and starts with a clean
disk.
But I now try to recreate exactly the steps you did.
