Title:
  git version should not be in GRUB menu

Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Ubuntu 25.10's GRUB menu wrongfully displays the Git version. This
  scares less-technical people. It didn't on 24.04, where it simply said
  "GNU GRUB version 2.12". I see "GNU GRUB version
  2.14~git20250718.0e36779". Continued from
  https://askubuntu.com/q/1563561/1004020 .

  $ lsb_release -rd
  Description:    Ubuntu 25.10
  Release:        25.10

  $ apt-cache policy grub-efi-amd64-signed
  grub-efi-amd64-signed:
    Installed: 1.214+2.14~git20250718.0e36779-1ubuntu4
    Candidate: 1.214+2.14~git20250718.0e36779-1ubuntu4
    Version table:
   *** 1.214+2.14~git20250718.0e36779-1ubuntu4 500
          500 https://gpl.savoirfairelinux.net/pub/mirrors/ubuntu questing/main amd64 Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

  # Expected behaviour

  Just the clean version "2.14" should be displayed on the GRUB menu.

  # Actual behaviour

  The date and Git commit ID is displayed, scaring users.
