Summary: update-manager Restart button fails to reboot system after
updates.

Description: * Steps to reproduce: Open update-manager, install updates
requiring a reboot, and click the "Restart Now" button.

Expected result: The system should initiate a reboot sequence.

Actual result: Nothing happens; the window stays open or closes, but the
PC remains on.
