Public bug reported:

After updates a week ago, keyboard input stopped working in some
applications, specifically KiCad and Eclipse (apparently related to Java
or another engine), and sometimes in browsers. Restarting helps, but not
always. Visual Studio Code works, the console works, and Libre Office
works. However, the application menu responds to the keyboard also close
forms, but form symbols input doesn't work. It is clear that the cursor
is responding (an attempt to enter a new character)
