Public bug reported:
A detailed log of my journey upgrading from Ubuntu 22.04 to 24.04, which
took more than a day is attached as ubu22-24.txt. I have a terrible
memory, so I capture everything, and YOU are the beneficiary. Enjoy!
I filed this bug because I made use of the suggestions I found at
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/knowledge-base-resolving-hard-upgrade-
issues/44443, which ultimately solved my problem.
I hope. I haven't rebooted my Ubuntu machine yet (crosses fingers).
