Hello Heinrich, or anyone else affected,

Accepted flash-kernel into noble-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/flash-
kernel/3.107ubuntu13~24.04.6 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
noble to verification-done-noble. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-noble. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[SRU] Add StarFive VisionFive 2 Lite, Milk-V Mars CM and Milk-V Mars
  CM Lite to database

Bug description:
  [ Impact ]

Permit users of StarFive VisionFive 2 Lite, Milk-V Mars CM, and Milk-V
Mars CM Lite boards to be supported on Ubuntu.

While this bug was originally "fixed" in resolute, resolute is moving
to RVA23 as a baseline which excludes these boards. In order to
provide continuing support to these boards in Ubuntu, the change needs
  back-porting to questing and noble.

  [ Test plan ]

On the affected $board, for each SRU'd $series:

  * Flash $board with ubuntu server image for $series
  * Attempt to run "sudo flash-kernel" -- note failure due to unrecognized board
  * Enable proposed pocket (edit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.sources and add $series-proposed to Suites line)
  * sudo apt install -t $series-proposed flash-kernel
  * Attempt to run "sudo flash-kernel" -- note success
  * Attempt "sudo reboot" -- note if reboot succeeds

[ Where things could go wrong ]

The patch only adds new entries to the flash-kernel database, so
  existing boards should be unaffected and do not require testing;
autopkgtests and build tests are in place to ensure the database is
  correctly structured after the patch.

The test plan covers checking that the bug is present on the affected
boards, and that those boards operate correctly (including reboot with
  flash assets afterwards).

  [ Original description ]

Add StarFive VisionFive 2 Lite, Milk-V Mars CM and Milk-V Mars CM Lite
are StarFive JH7110 based boards which we can support in Noble if
  adding the appropriate device-trees.
