we've also encountered support requests with this kind of issue.
Subiquitiy crashes when it encounters a storage device that has pre-
existing LVM based filesystem. The workaround has been to `wipefs -a`
the disk and re-run the installer after which it is able to proceed
normally. This was apparent on the latest 24.04 ISO.

Bug description:
  While trying to install the latest daily of 24.04 (still .3 but daily
  from 02.02.) on a multipath + LVM disk setup on an s390x system, that
  has an older 26.04 on it (trying to reinstall the system on 24.04) the
  installer crashed.
