Bug description:
found with installs and tests for `aide`. From upstream, likely
affects `strace` as well. Already committed upstream, so awaiting
  release > 0.6.0

  from upstream bug

  https://github.com/uutils/coreutils/issues/10972

date (uutils coreutils) 0.6.0 on Ubuntu 26.04

  date -u -d 'Mon Feb 16 09:21:27 UTC 2026' '+%Y-%m-%d'
  2026-02-16

  date -u '+%Y-%m-%d' -d 'Mon Feb 16 09:21:27 UTC 2026'
  date: extra operand '-d'

GNU coreutils Packaged by Ubuntu (9.7-3ubuntu1)

  gnudate -u +%Y-%m-%d -d 'Mon Feb 16 09:21:27 UTC 2026'
  2026-02-16

Noticed it because strace autoconfig script failed.

  date: extra operand '-d'
