This issue is not exactly a bug but rather a bad interaction between two
components that are being worked on at the same time. livecd-rootfs is
having some changes made to it that required Calamares' configuration to
change, but those changes have not been fully deployed yet. calamares-
settings-ubuntu is currently designed to work with the newer livecd-
rootfs changes, but that required breaking the package for the older ISO
build mechanism, thus the Lubuntu images on cdimage are, for the moment,
"intentionally" broken. Working images can be found here:
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-cdimage/+livefs/ubuntu/resolute/lubuntu
Either the livecd-rootfs changes will be fully deployed eventually,
which will fix this, or we'll need to roll back calamares-settings-
ubuntu, which will fix this. Thus I'll leave this as filed against both
projects.

Bug description:
Last week I had this error part way thru install.
Command cp /etc/apt/sources.list.d/cdrom.sources /tmp/calamares-cdrom-sources/ finished with exit code 1.
Output:
cp: cannot stat '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/cdrom.sources': No such file or directory
Review of broken install on drive, showed no /etc folder??
Today's ISO March 11, 2026
Error was bug reporting crashed soon after start of install & I could not see issue.
Other issues
I need to use 27" monitor as laptop screen small. I have to unplug monitor as mouse & Kubuntu icon are on monitor, but all the install info is on laptop. Unplugging then works, but difficult to see screen.
I use grub2 loopmount with toram parameter to boot ISO.
Trying to install to external NVMe drive which I tried several times before. Originally had 24.04 in that partition on drive.
It finds lots of Wi-Fi connections, seem to switch to wrong one & then
password not work. could not cancel password screen. Error then Locked
up system and no reboot worked except power off.
