fwts compiling source on RHEL 6.7 and some issues

I was able to reproduce this with a fresh install of RHEL 6.7 and the
latest fwts from git.  The double-definition of fwts_framework is from a
fairly recent commit, 5c86ac0aa2fc7cf74a28bd04120cb02e908e31e4, on
December 10, 2015.
