Mongo 2.4 is out

I was afraid of this,

Why is new software a bad thing ? IMO, if we find a bug in the 2.2.x 
version(s) of mongo we are using, following the open source mantra of 
'it'll be fixed in the next release' we may have to upgrade to 2.4.x to 
get the fix.

James - is it possible/feasible to abandon the 2.2.x -> raring work in 
favour of packaging 2.4.x, or are things too far along ?
