Yet another (relatively small) UX question

We have a couple of items up for discussion/comment:

*Bug 1110515 *:

Is there anything more we can tell our users? Do we know if the 
connecting system isn't communicating or the user has entered their 
details incorrectly?


*Bug 1104105* :

I'm not a copywriter so the wording in these is an attempt at what they 
could say - trying to be more friendly and less "I'm a robot". Are they 
communicating what we need to say or do they need something more/different?
