Can not bootstrap juju on a brand new Ubuntu 12.04 VM

Right on!

I found out that as well. But I choose to reboot the machine after
adding myself to the group. I do not remember I need to do that for
11.10 though. I think following your steps is better.

I think the key is that I should be able to view the default using
net-list without sudo, otherwise, I would encounter the problem during
the bootstrap - this could be a pre-step before doing bootstrap and
become frustrated.
