Did you get a JSON key file from the console yet?
    APIs & Auth > Credentials
    Generate New JSON key

You can just point environments.yaml at that JSON file, like so:
    type: gce
    auth-file: /path/to/project-1230182313.json
    project-id: whatever
    region: us-central1
