Getting started?

Hi all,

I'm trying

and failing hard. I get juju installed at step one, but when I paste the 
command from step 3, I finish with

juju-quickstart: error: cannot retrieve the environment type: upgrade in 
progress - Juju functionality is limited

Above that I see the warning:

21:35:03 WARNING app:201 cannot retrieve the API address: cannot connect 
to any of the following addresses: localhost:17070, 10.0.3.1:17070, 
172.17.0.1:17070, 192.168.11.115:17070

I am now noticing

Looks like considerably different instructions. So maybe I should just 
ask where to start?

I have an Intel NUC i7 with 16GB of RAM and it is running Ubuntu 15.10. 
I'd like to install juju locally on this machine and possibly add new 
nodes (more NUCs) later. Is there a good place for me to start with that 
in mind?
