I finally managed to have suspend (to disk and to Ram) working on my laptop.
The solution was:
- to comment the line POST_VIDEO=true in /etc/default/acpi-support
- to add a line
         Option          "NvAGP" "1"
in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file (section 'device').
The color cycling was probably a consequence of one of these two things.
I filed two bugs: bug 8511 and bug 8513.
Joe, could you try that on your laptop ? If it works for you, we could mark this
bug as duplicate.
