OK, thanks for this information. I think the issue at hand is that pcmcia-cs
doesn't start unless it detects kernel PCMCIA support (the installer uses the
same check to decide whether to install pcmcia-cs).
Please send the output from:
find /sys/class/pcmcia_socket
lspci
--
