Debian Sid AMD64 from April 10th (sid-amd64-monolithic.iso) has same problems
including segfault.
Gentoo 2005.0 AMD64 Install CD (install-amd64-universal-2005.0-r1.iso) detects
CD and both SATA harddisks perfectly when BIOS is set to AHCI-ENHANCED, so
clearly its not a problem that is shared by all 64-bit installers.

Since I provided the request information on 2005-04-10, shouldn't someone change
the status of this bug from NEEDINFO (to whatever)? Also, please let me know the
sooner the better if there is any other troubleshooting that I can do or
information that I can gather, since I only have physical access to this
particular hardware for perhaps another week (after that it gets put into
production at a web-hosting company). I don't envy you guys as you are probably
swamped with work from the Hoary release -- just hang in there and keep up the
good work!
