Summary: userspace traps broken on amd64
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: amd64
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: fabbione at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: csr21 at cam.ac.uk
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

As described in a message on linux-kernel from Juho Snellman (see
<http://lkml.org/lkml/2005/1/17/321>), a
kprobes patch broke userspace traps on the amd64 platform. The patch in
<http://article.gmane.org/gmane.lisp.steel-bank.devel/4180> fixes the problem,
but I do not know whether that
was what was eventually applied to the upstream kernel.
