Summary: acx_pci wireless doesn't pick up the right channel
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: fabbione at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: matthew.east at breathe.com
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

When I turn on my PC, my wireless card (acx111 chipset) does not associate with
my network properly. I have to set the channel manually (sudo iwconfig wlan0
channel 3) and then it works fine.

I get a lot of repetitions of this in dmesg:

acx_set_status: Setting status = 2 (WAIT_AUTH)
<acx_set_timer> Elapse = 1500000
acx_process_authen: UNVERIFIED.

00:0F:66:ED:D1:C5
Algorithm is ok
Got current client for sta hash tab
Found acceptable client
acx_process_authen auth seq step 2.
Authentication FAILED (status code 1: "Unspecified failure"), still waiting for
authentication.

followed by this:

tx: error occurred (0x20)!! (excessive Tx retries due to either distance too
high or unable to Tx or Tx frame error - try changing 'iwconfig txpower XXX' or
'sens'itivity or 'retry')
tx: error occurred (0x20)!! (excessive Tx retries due to either distance too

tx: error occurred (0x20)!! (excessive Tx retries due to either distance too
high or unable to Tx or Tx frame error - try changing 'iwconfig txpower XXX' or
'sens'itivity or 'retry')
several excessive Tx retry errors occurred, attempting to recalibrate the
radio!! This radio drift *might* be due to increasing card temperature, so you
may want to verify proper card temperature, since recalibration might delay card
over-temperature failure until it's too late (final fatal card damage). Just a
(over?)cautious warning...

Hope this helps!
