[Breezy|Hoary] Dell D610 (and other models) freezes at least once a day. Happend
with both Hoary and Breezy kernels.

It's something not reproducible, you just have to wait. It's more probable it
will happen, when the system is under some load (compilation etc). There is
nothing in logs. After some googling, I found this topic on ubuntuforums.org:
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-40723.html

Among other things, it describes a race condition in libsata-scsci caused by
checking disc presence in optical drive. The workaround is to always have some
CD (or DVD) on drive and it helps (2 days of testing). The suggested fix (and
other fixes) is here:
http://rtr.ca/dell_i9300/kernel . Other experiences with notebook are described
on this URL: http://rtr.ca/dell_i9300/

The fix itself is in Linus' 2.6 kernel GIT tree (committed 18 hours ago) but
it's not in 2.6.13-rc6. The commit (with diff) can be seen in GITweb
http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commit;h=42517438f9c1011a03e49a542cba32ac5a80dd8e

Is it possible to add this fix to next Breezy kernel? I'll be happy to test it :-)
