Fabio, thank you for the answer. I took the linux-source-2.6.12 from the Breezy
archive, the /boot/config-2.6.12-686-smp from the linux-image-2.6.12-686-smp
and build the kernel with

 make-kpkg --initrd --stem linux \
       --append-to-version '-686-smp-test1' \
       --revision '2.6.12.686.smp.test1 \
       buildpackage

After the installation i'm doing a bonnie++ over NFS and the test finished
without oom-killer messages in the syslog. I planning to use the Breezy kernel
package, because i think, that i can use the Security Updates from Ubuntu. There
are some warning in the build process with the xen and uml parts:

dpkg-genchanges: warning: package kernel-uml-2.6.12-686-smp-test1 in control
file but not in files list
dpkg-genchanges: warning: package kernel-xen0-2.6.12-686-smp-test1 in control
file but not in files list

I think, this does'nt matter, because i'm not using Xen or UML?

Best regards
Herbert Straub
