OK, upgrading acpid and acpi-support to the latest version allowed a single
suspend to work. On performing a second suspend the following oops was seen:

I'll see if this is reproducible (note, I didn't upgrade the kernel to the
latest version, _only_ updated acpid and acpi-support from the default colony 3
versions)
