Ok I've done further testing for my lack of hardware scroll (middle toggle)
since 2.6.11
on 2.6.11 from evtest (direct report from evdev/psmouse modules)
event code 272 (LeftBtn)
event code 273 (RightBtn)
event code 274 (MiddleBtn)
event code 277 (ForwardBtn)
event code 278 (BackBtn)
event code 304 (BtnA)
event code 305 (BtnB)
event code 325 (ToolFinger)
event code 330 (Touch)
pressing up on the toggle generates 277
pressing down generates 278
Cool all is good !!!!
Now Every Kernel since 2.6.12 to 2.6.15
event code 272 (LeftBtn)
event code 273 (RightBtn)
event code 274 (MiddleBtn)
event code 325 (ToolFinger)
event code 330 (Touch)
pressing up on the toggle generates NOTHING !!!!!
pressing down generates 274
Everything is desperatly busted and I'm seriously sad :-(
What happened to the other events.?
This shows at least my problem is a kernel bug and a persistent one at that.
What I don't understand is why there is not more nashing of teeth on the
internet googling results in no hits, Does this only affect Fujitsu-siemens Alps
pads ???, or do users not realize that hardware toggles should funtion.??
This looks like maybe a bug in the psmouse module upstream what do you guys think.?
Obviously this leaves Breezy and Dapper touchpad behaviour busted, at least for me.
