This has to be an issue somewhere else (line quality of ethernet cable, wrt54gs,
...).

I have a wrt54gs, and the with the original firmware, I was having issues with
dhcp aswell. Upgraded the firmware (well, upgraded it to a better firmware, not
one from linksys), and dhcp is quick like I expect it.
