ok that helped - but to get DRM working I had to make a symlink since:
[m2k at ubuntu ~]$ LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo
name of display: :0.0
libGL: XF86DRIGetClientDriverName: 8.20.8 fglrx (screen 0)
libGL: OpenDriver: trying /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/fglrx_dri.so
It obviously is looking in the wrong folder (should be /usr/lib/dri/)
I already opened another bug for that(21062), but perhaps it is somehow connected...
