I also tried the current hoary kernel in the repository and it works.  So far, I
can only reproduce the problem with Abit AN8 Fatal1ty MoBo and the kernel
packaged with the install/LiveCD.  I can reproduce it perfectly with that combo,
but it looks like later kernel builds (in the 2.10.x series and the 2.12.x
series) do not have the same issue with this MoBo/NIC.  Makes it difficult to
install and impossible to run the LiveCD with this box, but this issue seems to
be fairly limited in scope if you were able to install without trouble with the
same chipset but different MoBo.
