i think he says that he have no time to "actively" ssupport it, but this is
written on it's website for more than 6 months, and as you can see in this folder: 
http://www.informatik.hu-berlin.de/~tauber/acerhk/archives/
the developper regularly post updates, the last one is from 6 june 2005,(even
the website is regularly updated: 16 june)

As you can read on its website, this module is usefull for a lot of laptop (more
than 30 models), i use it for more than 1 year and half everyday, and never got
any problem with it.

Maybe it can't enter "main" but it could be in universe or multiverse ?
