Summary: [breezy] user mode linux package is missing
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: kernel-package
AssignedTo: fabbione at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: pvanhoof at gnome.org
QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
The user mode linux package is missing. And trying to build a 2.6.12-4 usermode
linux kernel (with make CC=gcc-3.4 linux ARCH=um) will result in a UML kernel
that wont work. One kernel developer explained me that thread tracing support is
broken in 2.6.12 and that it's fixed in 2.6.13-rc3. I managed to build a uml
kernel that acutally loads using the uml-2.6.12-bb6-skas0.patch. But it failed
mounting the root fs (the udb0 parameter).
So basically there's different issues with user mode linux on current breezy.
