Summary: CONFIG_USB_BANDWIDTH setting prevents USB sound card
                    working
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: fabbione at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: peter.butler at 141.com
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

The kernel config parameter CONFIG_USB_BANDWIDTH ("Enforce USB bandwidth
allocation (EXPERIMENTAL)") is set to "Y" in the default ubuntu kernel. This
prevents the Creative Labs Live 24-bit external USB sound card from working
correctly with the JACK audio server (possibly other USB sound cards as well).
JACK crashes on initialisation with this setting, recompiling the kernel with
CONFIG_USB_BANDWIDTH unset allows JACK to start successfully. Is it possible to
unset this in the default kernel?
