Summary: Hoary kernel makes USB mouse unusable
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: fabbione at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: teppic74 at hotmail.com
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

When using a USB Microsoft Optical Mouse 2.0A in Hoary, the behaviour is erratic
to the degree it is unusable. Mouse clicks do not work properly, and sometimes
click events are sent when no button is pressed. Menus are almost impossible to
navigate.

The problem doesn't exist in Windows XP, Mac OS X, Gentoo Linux or Knoppix.

It can be reproduced every time on different computers using the same mouse.

Updating the Hoary kernel to the Breezy kernel fixes the problem - no other
changes necessary, hence there must be a problem with the kernel.
