Summary: [2.6.12-1] sleep and hibernate problems
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux
        AssignedTo: fabbione at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: tiagomatos at gmail.com
         QAContact: kernel-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

Here are some problems I've been having with linux-image-2.6.12-1-686
version 2.6.11.94-1.1 in Breezy on my laptop. I'm reporting this because
AFAIK this kernel will eventualy move to main and be the supported one (and
we want top laptop support, don't we? ;-)

/etc/acpi/sleep.sh and /etc/acpi/hibernate.sh aren't working fully as they
were with Hoary's kernel.

Mainly the sound stops working after a sleep or hibernate. I tried to
unload all the sound modules (down to snd_page_alloc and soundcore) and
load them back after sleep but still the sound doesn't work. With Hoary's
kernel even going to sleep with some program playing a song isn't a
problem, and it still comes back playing it.

Also, sometimes the kernel panics before entering sleep (using
USE_DPMS=false I can see the message, maybe you could put this variable
like this by default during the development cycle so that any problems
aren't missed). I'll try to get that info here if you need it.

I noticed that the directories in /sys/class/net and /sys/class/usb_host
are different now so /etc/acpi/prepare.sh doesn't do what it is supposed
to. Yet usb devices and network access seem to work.
